Many students have financial problems, others have trouble with studies, their fellow students or their lecturers. The AStA maintains a wide range of services to support students in all kinds of situations.

The AStA will always take the side of students. We will counsel you on general information about BAföG as well as individual problems. If you have troubles with your lecturers or examination problems, you don't have to face it alone. We will either take action ourselves or refer you to a competent office.

Financial Support
Students with financial Troubles can get an interest-free loan, eat for free in the canteen, or get a grant for their semesterticket (transit pass)
Cultural Offers
No studies without study breaks! The AStA not only tries to support the students in their political education, but also wants to make cultural offers possible.
There is a theatre flat rate at the Schauspielhaus. The AStA games night takes place twice a month. If you want to learn to speak foreign languages or just want to get some practice, you can find a partner through the language tandem. If you are in the mood for queer evenings, you will find what you are looking for at Queerkeller, the LGBTQ group in Hannover.

Student Life
Everyone who has ever tried to find an apartment in Hannover knows it can be very difficult. Here, too, the AStA can provide support. Whether it's a place to crash for a few days at the beginning of the semester or a shared flat that you don't want to move out of for the rest of your studies.
If you encounter (structural) barriers in your studies, we will contact the responsible office and try to ensure that the barrier is removed.
