The Clerical Offices (Sachbearbeitungsstellen or SB-Stellen) are a central part of the AStA collective. They keep day-to-day operations running through their work. In return, they receive an expense allowance from the student body budget. Clerical positions, just like the AStA collective, are elected in each legislative period.
Services include operating the service office (mainly administering free mensa tables), loan processing, as well as various counseling services, e.g. for BAFöG.
The topical clerical office work closely with the Department of Political Education to ensure the realization of topical event series, be it the orientation week or the fclr. Events such as the "uni_sex Hochschultage" are also prepared and executed by the clerical offices.
In this way, the AStA can meet the students' demands for political education. We do not see the people behind the SB positions as service providers, but as members of the AStA collective. Because without them, the day-to-day running of the AStA would not be possible.

About the Application Procedure
Due to the gender imbalance in the current legislature, we have decided to give preference to women* in the SB positions. For us, this means that if there are several applications with the same qualifications for a position, women* will be given preference. In addition, where possible, attention is paid to a balanced staffing according to courses of study. The current budget provides for 43 clerks. The positions are advertised annually on the day after the constituent meeting of the Student Council via the usual channels. If you would like to apply, please check the news on Facebook or here on our homepage.
