Introducing the International Students’ Spokespersons for the Term 2024/2025
I am Nabil Hamo, from Iraq, and a master’s student in Electrical Engineering at Leibniz University Hannover. My greatest passion lies in finding simple and efficient solutions to highly complex problems. For this reason, I explored in my bachelor’s thesis in Iraq the possibility of enabling blind people to manage their daily lives without complications through the use of glasses equipped with high-quality sensors („seeing through feeling“).
I am well acquainted with the situation of international students here in Germany, particularly in Hannover, and strongly believe in being a reliable and helpful colleague. I am very excited to be part of the commission and especially look forward to supporting students with their concerns soon. Always with friendliness, respect, and understanding—this is what defines me.
Yours,
Nabil
My name is Szymon Wisniewski, I am from Poland, and I am pursuing a master’s degree in Environmental Engineering. I am fascinated by ecology and resource management, the core focus of my studies. In my free time, I enjoy sports such as hiking, jogging, and sailing, and I love spending time in nature.
As an international student who came to Germany from abroad, I understand the challenges faced by international students from my own experience. This is why I decided to run as a spokesperson for international students—to support them with their concerns and issues at the university. Previously, I was involved with the intercultural group „Café International,“ which made significant contributions to the integration of international students. Our efforts were recognized with an award from the Student Services Organization. I now aim to bring my years of experience working with international students to my role as a spokesperson. My primary focus is on fostering integration for international students and advocating for their rights in cases of discrimination. I look forward to actively contributing to the work of the International Students‘ Commission.
