The Department of Social Affairs is the link between the student body and the various counseling services around the university. The department tries to help students with problems both inside and outside the university — From problems with the examination regulations to accompaniment in legal dispute, private financial troubles, or housing problems.
In general, the department tries to point out social concerns of the students and to look for improvement possibilities in order to tackle them actively within the student self-administration and to solve them if possible. In doing so, it works closely with the university and student counseling as well as the BAföG and social counseling of the AStA.
