Internal Policy
The department of internal university policy supports the student councils in their work and is their contact person in the AStA. It organizes the Student Council Conference (FSK) and helps the student councils with their tasks for certain projects. In addition, the department — together with the clerical offices — networks between university committees and the student councils and passes on information.

External Policy
The central goal of the Department for External University Policy is the exchange with other AStA’s and alliances at city, state and national level. On the city level, the speaker represents the interests of the student body in the Hanoverian Student Council Conference, and in the State Student Council Conference (LAK) on the state level.
Furthermore, the AStA is active in other alliances and associations at the federal level, such as the fzs (federation of student unions): an association that counts student unions and representative bodies nationwide among its members and represents their interests at the federal level. The student body of the University of Hanover is a member of the fzs, regularly participates in meetings, conferences and assemblies and actively contributes.
